About The Position

Becker & Frondorf, an independent cost estimating and owner’s representative firm, is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator with strong conceptual estimating experience. The role involves developing conceptual and detailed estimates for a variety of projects across all phases and working directly with clients on active projects. The firm seeks an analytical, detail-oriented estimator who can manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and strong client service. The position offers room to take on greater responsibility, including potential leadership opportunities as the firm grows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of construction cost estimating experience, including conceptual estimating across multiple design phases.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, complex building systems, and current market conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with cost estimating software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, client-focused approach, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Togal.AI takeoff software.
• Experience with independent cost estimating.
• Professional certifications such as ASPE, LEED, or AIA.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed construction document cost estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing across all CSI construction divisions, including sitework, structural, architectural, and MEP systems.
• Analyze drawings, narratives, and specifications to determine project scope, assumptions, and cost risks.
• Provide estimate revisions, value engineering options, and cost-saving alternatives.
• Participate in reconciliation with contractors, architects, and engineers.
