About The Position

Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a similar role in a similar environment. As Senior Cost Controller, you will be involved with implementing, administering and maintaining cost control systems and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts for projects of medium complexity and value. You will also assist in the preparation and review of cost estimates, provide cost information to support decisions and alternative selection, evaluate and analyze fee proposals/bids and provide recommendations for decision making, provide forecasts and cash flow analysis, and maintain and manage the cost report, providing regular updates on financial position. Additionally, you will assist in the development, validation and maintenance of the project schedule, assist in developing reporting tracking tools and generating cost reports on a regular basis, including evaluation of earned value. This role requires building intricate spreadsheets for fast and accurate data manipulation of large datasets, extracting data from several sources, transforming it to fit operational needs, and reconciling data to support complete accuracy and create a clean audit trail. SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry.
  • Experience supporting cost management on medium or large sized construction projects.
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.

Responsibilities
