About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Cost Controls Specialist/Cost Manager to join our team in Atlanta, GA. Your role will involve tracking and analyzing project costs, including approved budgets, commitments, actual expenditures, accruals, and forecasts. You will prepare and manage monthly accruals, ensuring costs are accurately recorded and forecasted in coordination with project teams and vendors. Additionally, you will prepare monthly forecasts and variance explanations, highlighting key cost drivers, trends, risks, and corrective actions. This role requires coordination of monthly forecasting reviews with project managers and discipline leads to validate remaining work, commitments, and forecast assumptions. You will also create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders, monitor commitments, and validate contractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements. Facilitating the evaluation and processing of change orders and funding requests, supporting capital project closeout activities (including final cost reporting, reconciliation of commitments, and placement of assets into service), and assisting with the annual capital budgeting process are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience project controls/cost management.
  • Intermediate – advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
