As a part of the Industrial Solutions Finance team, the Sr Cost Analyst will be responsible for providing various types of products and plant cost analysis that will be utilized by upper management in key sourcing and manufacturing decision making processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in Finance, data analysis, or related field
  • Knowledge of database and ERP systems
  • Excellent Microsoft Office applications skills
  • Goal-oriented and able to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP and FASB.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working on cross -functional teams including Supply Chain, Engineering, Plant Operations, and Sales

Nice To Haves

  • CPA/CMA Certification
  • Experience working in SAP
  • Experience working in Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience working in manufacturing electrical service company

Responsibilities

  • Product Cost Analysis – periodic analysis of current product costs, overhead / burden rates, etc. Variance analysis vs standard costs and prior costs with report outs to upper management.
  • BOM (Bill of Materials) Reviews – periodic reviews of bill materials to analyze completeness and accuracy of recorded and allocated costs.
  • New Product Introduction Support – work with Product Management and Engineering teams to develop detailed, accurate, and complete cost estimates for new products in the development process.
  • Standard Costing Review – work with Cost Accounting and Plant Finance teams to understand and analyze reasonableness of various cost assumptions developed for the annual standard cost roll.
  • Inventory – manage inventory reporting and analysis, including part-level E&O review and forecasting
  • Plant Cost Comparisons – analyze and evaluate differences in costs from plant to plant to support management decision making
  • Make vs Buy Analysis – support Plant and Operations Finance teams in various Make vs Buy decision making analysis
  • Freight Profitability Analysis – analyze freight recovered from customers vs freight expenses incurred
  • Develop various Power BI dashboards to increase management visibility and reviews
  • Support SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process with relevant projects
  • Other special projects as needed
