Requirements

  • Broad understanding of general ledger, project, and operational accounting
  • Analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Thorough knowledge of standard accounting procedures, Company policies and all relevant Federal, State and local requirements
  • Advanced professional level requiring incumbent to handle a variety of difficult and unique problems
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures
  • Perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
  • Proficient in using a computer and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel etc)
  • Oracle Fusion preferred
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive and a team player
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff, vendors, clients and others
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Determine risk factors and present findings to Finance Management
  • Mentor and train junior members of the Cost Accounting Department
  • Review, analyze and prepare company revenue forecasts for accuracy
  • Support development of current systems and policies/procedures (Oracle Fusion PM tools, finance forms, etc)
  • Assist in the development, implementation and/or maintenance of cost accounting systems related to collection and analysis of job costs and/or budgets
  • Prepare subsidiary accounting and financial documents for divisions including CAC's, backlog, invalid time reports and budgets
  • Utilize Oracle Fusion accounting software to perform journal entries, review and approve project budgets and change orders, and open new projects
  • Prepare various cost/statistical reports for corporate management as required/requested
  • Assist Project Management in resolution of costing issues
  • Travel to regional offices to support operations, conduct month end reviews, and train operations staff on finance procedures and systems
