About The Position

The Senior Cost Accountant at Okuma America Corporation oversees daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy in transactions and compliance with regulations. This prepares financial reports, supports budget planning, and leads system improvements. Requirements

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance or AS degree plus relevant work experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, organize work, effectively handle multiple projects with track record of successful project completion, and work positively under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage a range of responsibilities and competing priorities while working under pressure to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all accounting practices comply with laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
  • Coordinate internal fixed asset audits to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Coordination of cost accounting and reporting activities
  • Monitor weekly cost calcs/negative inventory
  • Inventory Close and Reconciliation of Inventory by warehouse
  • Provide support for cycle counts, investigate price variances, and help resolve issues
  • Establish annual labor and overhead rates/ Performs average cost analysis for Board & Mechanical Exchange Revenue
  • Review, investigate, and explain production variances on a routine basis
  • Assist with audits both annual and quarter reviews
  • Reconcile Machine Rev, COGS
  • Inventory reserve analysis – quarterly
  • Property tax returns – annual
  • Fixed Assets, reconciliation, additions and disposals
  • Reconciles CIP, books depreciation
  • Landed Costs analysis and recording accruals
  • Royalty analysis and recording liability in D365
  • Drive work process improvements
  • Lead month-end and Year End closing process, perform month-end journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performs bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for management.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidation packages for parent company using Stravis-link.
  • Support annual financial statement audit, prepare required schedules and compile data to support audit requests.
  • Reporting required by governmental entities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support business
  • Support Accounting Department in other areas when needed
