Cost Accountant Senior

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support our Colors business in the St. Louis area. In this role, you will partner with plant and manufacturing teams to support their goals, provide data driven recommendations, and help ensure consistent inventory and manufacturing controls.
Requirements
- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Experience in finance with a strong understanding of cost accounting processes and principles, with manufacturing experience preferred
- Confidence working with data, including advanced Excell spreadsheet skills and the ability to manipulate and analyze information
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning and reporting systems, with experience in tools such as JDE, Cognos, and OneStream considered a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to clearly communicate insights and findings
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate standard costs for raw materials and finished goods
- Analyze manufacturing variances and provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency
- Support monthly close activities through journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
- Review bills of materials, production routes, and cost allocations for accuracy
- Partner with production teams to evaluate direct and indirect costs
- Prepare reporting that explains manufacturing performance, including spending and efficiency trends
- Assist with budgeting, audits, and special projects as needed
