The Sr. Cost Accountant is responsible for: Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor. Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Will also be performing basic GL accounting duties, such as financial analysis, journal entries and reporting. The Target Pay Range for this position is $84,667-$105,834 annually. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5-6 years’ related experience
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel (i.e. pivots, vlookups), and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for booking manufacturing sales and cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • Responsible for running the trial balance from our sub ledger (QAD and booking it to our main ERP system (Lawson)
  • Preparing monthly P&L and balance sheet review (may be regionalized).
  • Book variance adjustments journal entries from QAD to Lawson.
  • Booking accrual entries
  • Booking capitalized overhead entries and amortizing them over inventory turns.
  • Analyzing both P&L and spending financials.
  • Reconciling inventory for raw materials and finished goods as well as booking cycle account adjustments.
  • Budgeting for P&L, labor and overhead spending.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
