About The Position

Tosoh America is a dynamic holding company with a growing corporate culture that provides centralized services for Tosoh Group companies in North America and beyond. In addition to integrating the corporate activities of its subsidiaries, this regional headquarters is working to expand Tosoh's business lines and operational capabilities within North America. The Senior Cost Accountant will be a strategic thinking partner within Finance and a business partner / advisor to Operations. The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate process cost information, reconciliation of standard costs to actual costs, maintenance of perpetual inventory system, participating in the month end close and budgeting process, and assisting the Controller with day-to-day operations and reporting requirements. This position will be responsible for developing/maintaining an effective cost accounting system to reduce cost and improve overall profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in Cost Accounting / Finance / Analytics preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • 3- 5 years’ experience using fully integrated ERP systems, with the ability to develop analytical reports.
  • 3-5 years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Strong Financial and business acumen.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Accountability to meet organizational demands, accurately, on-time, on-budget.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Project Management accreditation/experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cost accounting processes, to include ERP system and transaction maintenance.
  • Maintain standard cost system, to include assigning appropriate costs to new products, development of labor and overhead rates, updating outside processor unit costs and annual standard product cost update.
  • Execute cycle count program, to include periodic verification (audit) of inventory counts.
  • Perform cost accounting monthly close activities and provide supplemental analysis schedules.
  • Analyze and maintain appropriate reserves for excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Provide detailed manufacturing and spending variance, inventory and product cost analysis as required.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on a regular basis.
  • Work with accounts payable on key suppliers as it relates to invoices and purchase order receipts to ensure proper matching.
  • Provide inter-company inventory/cost schedules as required.
  • Interface with external auditors on issues related to inventory and manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
