About The Position

Solstice is redefining how life sciences organizations commercialize their therapeutics by building a commercial engine that allows pharmaceutical marketers to launch campaigns at 100x the speed. We are working with top life sciences manufacturers and 50+ pharma brands, leveraging AI, LLMs, and new frameworks to advance pharmaceutical marketing. We have raised funding from top-tier investors to support our growth and build an elite team. We are seeking a dedicated individual with the drive to succeed.

Requirements

  • Hold a JD and licensed to practice in New York.
  • Qualified lawyer with 3-6 years’ post-qualification experience, gained within a leading law firm and/or in-house at a high-growth organization.
  • Commercial contracting experience, preferably with biotech, mid-sized, and large pharma companies.
  • Demonstrable experience negotiating complex commercial SaaS or AI agreements, ideally within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and AI regulation (CA, IL, and EU preferred).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and commercial legal frameworks, preferably within technology and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Experience managing external counsel and delivering clear, business-oriented legal advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and solutions-driven approach.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance on corporate strategy, go-to-market activities, fundraising, and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Establish and scale the company’s legal function, including contracting, compliance, corporate governance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, licensing, data use, vendor, and enterprise customer contracts.
  • Support equity and debt financing activities, including investor diligence, term sheet negotiation, and closing processes in collaboration with external counsel.
  • Advise on employment and people-related matters, including hiring, compensation, equity programs, performance management, and HR policies, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate legal and regulatory risks across the business, balancing risk with speed and business impact.
  • Monitor and interpret evolving regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy, AI/technology, and industry-specific regulations) from emerging FDA/White House AI guidance, translating them into actionable guidance for product, engineering, and go-to-market teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to external counsel, managing relationships, budgets, and synthesizing advice into clear, pragmatic recommendations.
  • Lead or support special projects such as international expansion, new product or service launches, and external strategic partnerships that support business expansion (e.g., EU AI Act compliance).
  • Drive legal and operational initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce friction, and enable the company to scale responsibly.
