About The Position

GoFundMe is seeking a Senior Corporate Communications Manager to lead executive communications and strategic storytelling for its nonprofit business, including GoFundMe Pro. This role is crucial for enhancing the company's voice in the nonprofit and social impact sectors. The manager will partner with senior leadership, particularly the Chief Customer Growth Officer, to shape thought leadership, promote product and industry narratives, and manage media relations. The position requires strong executive presence, excellent writing and editing skills, a passion for the nonprofit sector, and the ability to manage cross-functional initiatives in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in corporate communications, executive communications, media relations, and B2B storytelling, with a solid understanding of the nonprofit, philanthropy, or social impact landscape.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or strategic communications.
  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership, including writing op-eds, keynote remarks, and executive social media.
  • Strong media relations experience with a track record of securing press and podcast interviews and speaking opportunities.
  • Experience supporting crisis communications or incident response.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex topics into compelling narratives.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep familiarity with, and passion for, the nonprofit, philanthropy, fundraising, or social impact sectors, with an understanding of the media landscape covering these areas.
  • Experience supporting B2B or enterprise-focused products, ideally within technology, SaaS, or platform companies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic communications partner to senior leadership, supporting executive visibility and thought leadership within the nonprofit and fundraising technology sectors.
  • Draft and edit executive content including op-eds, keynote remarks, LinkedIn posts, and other written communications.
  • Partner with the social media team on executive social media presence, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with company priorities.
  • Prepare executives for speaking engagements by writing remarks, developing presentation materials, and shaping key messages.
  • Identify and secure media opportunities such as podcast appearances and press interviews, and support executive preparation and staffing.
  • Identify compelling stories that highlight GoFundMe’s role in nonprofit impact, innovation in fundraising, and community-driven outcomes.
  • Pitch stories to national, sector, and trade media covering nonprofits, philanthropy, fundraising technology, and social impact.
  • Lead outreach to nonprofit and industry publications and podcasts to increase visibility for GoFundMe Pro, its customers, and the nonprofit sector overall.
  • Support communications for GoFundMe Pro product launches and key announcements, including messaging development and media outreach.
  • Develop content that reinforces GoFundMe Pro’s leadership in nonprofit fundraising and donor engagement.
  • Serve as communications lead for GoFundMe Pro-related reports and data-backed insights, editing drafts and providing strategic feedback to ensure clarity, accuracy, and impact.
  • Support incident response and crisis communications, helping develop messaging and coordinating communications during sensitive situations.
  • Partner with legal, product, and leadership teams to ensure clear and consistent communications during high-stakes moments.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across product, marketing, partnerships, and leadership to advance communications priorities tied to GoFundMe Pro and the nonprofit business as a whole.
  • Manage complex communications initiatives and timelines, ensuring projects move forward efficiently.
  • Provide senior-level guidance on messaging, narrative development, and strategic communications opportunities.
