About The Position

Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant. This role provides hands-on experience in investment accounting and reporting, tax research and preparation, financial statement compilation and review, and analysis of other complex financial information. The ideal candidate is solutions-oriented, eager to learn, works independently with minimal supervision, and enjoys collaboration. This position reports to the Manager, Accounting/Finance and is located in Meridian, Idaho, with support for a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

5 years of public accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA license/certification
Skill in reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling financial data
The ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic setting
Problem-solving skills with the capacity to suggest practical solutions
Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including executive-level presentations
Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail
A collaborative mindset and an eagerness to build relationships across finance, treasury, and actuarial teams

Responsibilities

Support in the preparation of financial statements, insurance industry financial reports, tax filings and various other schedules and reports
Research and interpret accounting guidance on complex accounting and investment issues
Perform a variety of accounting tasks including interpreting data for input into accounting software
Prepare monthly reconciliations and analyze variances
Assist in the preparation of schedules for internal and external audits
Perform other duties as requested
