About The Position

The Senior Corporate Accountant plays a key role in the monthly close, consolidated financial reporting, and public-company reporting processes. This position owns key corporate accounting areas, including G&A accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, stock-based compensation, and cash reporting, while partnering with site accounting, treasury, payroll, and financial reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accounting principles, and SOX/internal control environments.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Experience supporting SEC reporting and filings.
  • Big 4 or national accounting firm experience preferred.
  • Experience with stock-based compensation and consolidated financial reporting preferred.
  • Mining or natural resources industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own corporate G&A accounting, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
  • Post and reconcile corporate cash activity, support monthly cash reporting, and provide cash forecast inputs for treasury.
  • Consolidate corporate and site financial results, including allocations and eliminations.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, financial statements, flux analysis, and variance analyses.
  • Support quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K), disclosure checklists, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with external audits, quarterly reviews, internal controls, and SOX compliance documentation.
  • Review payroll, support compensation accruals, and own stock-based compensation accounting, including RSU expense recognition and equity roll-forward schedules.
  • Identify and implement improvements to close, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with accounting, treasury, payroll, finance, and external auditors, and support special projects as needed.
