About The Position

The Senior Coordinator, High-Impact Practices oversees administrative operations in the Division of Undergraduate Education, including academic programming and strategies such as high-impact practices (HIPs), that improve the quality and efficacy of the undergraduate experience at the University of Arizona (U of A). The Division of Undergraduate Education supports collaboration and provides leadership for transformative learning opportunities across all undergraduate programs at the University of Arizona through high-quality initiatives facilitating student empowerment, persistence, and well-being that lead to degree completion. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
High-Impact Practices: specialized knowledge of HIP literature, research, best practices, assessment, and implementation strategies in higher education.
Flexibility and Adaptability: creatively solve problems working through ambiguity, including impromptu or ad hoc assignments, as well as shifting priorities and changing direction of work.
Proactive Work Ethic: work proactively with moderate guidance under limited or minimal supervision, consulting with supervisor in highly unusual or complex situations, or for sound judgment, accuracy, and alignment with objectives.
Communication: communicate effectively with different groups and individuals to foster connection and coordinate undergraduate education efforts.
Time Management: effectively manage projects under pressure, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time while maintaining high-quality standards.
Tact and Discretion: handle confidential and sensitive information, including under the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA).

Nice To Haves

Formal project management experience, including proficiency in project management technology and tools such as dashboards, charts, boards, etc.
Experience coordinating executive-level schedules and calendars.

Responsibilities

Collaboratively create and sustain infrastructure to promote the meaningful integration of HIPs into and across undergraduate education, including within general education courses. Infrastructure functions to ensure effective academic administration and support for HIP activities in Undergraduate Education may include: serving on committees and working groups (or similar), conducting communications and outreach, coordinating meetings and events, managing projects and initiatives, organizing systems and strategies, implementing policies, processes, and procedures, and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in HIP programs and services across undergraduate education.
Collect, compile, analyze, and/or report on data and information, both local and national, that provide insight into the student experience with HIPs in undergraduate education. Oversee the implementation of assessments and evaluations related to HIP Initiatives. Assist in the creation, development, delivery, and implementation of data-informed resources, reports, and action plans to improve the student experience. Maintain divisional records related to HIP activities.
Keep current on teaching and learning pedagogies, technologies, trends, and developments in HIP literature, including attending professional development. Provide professional expertise and guidance to coordinate and structure HIP initiatives and align them with the U of A’s strategic imperatives and academic mission. Review, analyze, and influence HIP-related practices and approaches, including collaboration on initiatives and training. Provide advisory, referral, and information services to students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners on HIP-related topics.
Administer, facilitate, and/or coordinate assigned programs and projects that accomplish Undergraduate Education’s priorities: improving four-year graduation rates; closing attainment gaps; improving communication and collaboration among units in support of undergraduate student academic success; defining and curating impactful and sustainable academic programs for undergraduate students; reducing bureaucratic complexity experienced by students.
