Requirements

  • Typically requires an Associates degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in payroll with an emphasis on payroll tax withholding and filing.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong PC-based skills.

  • Knowledge of legacy systems, including ADP EV5, ADP Smart Compliance, and other reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Review and action daily payroll reports to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Run payroll queries and complete required employee updates, including annual Federal/State W-4 resets and Indiana Local Tax Panel updates.
  • Prepare payroll adjustment transactions (for current and prior periods) and partner with functional teams to ensure adjustments are accurately processed.
  • Maintain and update Desktop Procedures (DTPs).
  • Partner with ADP to ensure timely receipt of IRS transcripts for all RTX companies.
  • Monitor tax receivables due to RTX by tracking outstanding balances and contacting state agencies as needed to ensure timely resolution.
  • Oversee weekly payroll preview activities and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain W-2C forms and associated logs.
  • Provide necessary documentation and analysis to support audit activities, ensuring all related inquiries are addressed accurately and completed within prescribed timelines.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to ServiceNow (SNOW) requests and escalations.
  • Ensure that all year-end deliverables and statutory deadlines are met.
  • Participate in payroll-related project initiatives and cross-functional workstreams to contribute to process improvement efforts.
  • Conduct quarterly analysis of multistate transactions and collaborate with the team to provide timely responses to all employee questions.
