About The Position

This is a full-time Senior Cook position at Restaurant Associates, a leading provider of dining and event catering. The role involves preparing nutritious and flavorful food in accordance with company and regulatory standards. The Senior Cook may oversee food service associates, prepare various menu items, operate and clean equipment, maintain organized storage, follow HACCP guidelines, and assist the Food Service Director with records and documentation. The position also involves cross-training employees and adhering to all company policies and safety procedures, including the use of protective gear when handling knives, hot items, and during lifting. Associates are eligible for an Employee Referral Bonus.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience is required.
  • The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
  • The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
  • The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food to ensure it is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable federal, state, local and company standards, guidelines and regulations.
  • May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director.
  • Prepares various entrees and menu items following established recipes.
  • Operates and cleans equipment after each use.
  • Performs scheduled routine cleaning.
  • Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy.
  • Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
  • Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
  • Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
  • Assists Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and completes all required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned.
  • Assists in the cross training of employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
