Senior Conversion Tracking & API Engineer

TNT Growth•Miami, FL
•$40,000 - $80,000•Remote

About The Position

TNT Growth is hiring a senior, hands-on engineer to independently own complex, production-grade conversion tracking across browsers, servers, CRMs, and advertising-platform APIs. The role combines backend and data-integration engineering with practical paid-media measurement expertise and client-facing communication. The engineer works with Growth Managers, Client Success, client engineering teams, and external platforms to manage the full measurement path, from consented browser and session capture through forms, CRM lifecycle events, event processing, ad-platform delivery, diagnostics, reconciliation, and monitoring. The position covers conversion-tracking architecture and identity, CRM integration and event pipelines, browser and cross-domain instrumentation, ad-platform payload engineering, end-to-end QA and production operations, TypeScript development, PostgreSQL and data-layer work, AI-assisted development, cross-functional ownership, and Git-based collaboration. The role is a non-US, long-term, full-time contract position. The stated non-US salary range is $40,000–$80,000, based on location and skillset.

Requirements

  • Senior-level, hands-on production experience with complex conversion tracking across Meta Pixel/CAPI and Google Ads API or Data Manager API, including Enhanced Conversions and offline conversions.
  • Hands-on browser and server-side instrumentation experience with GTM, server-side GTM or equivalent, Google tag and GA4, deterministic dataLayer events, SPAs, redirects, cross-domain and subdomain flows, embedded forms, and booking tools.
  • Expertise in attribution identity and matchback, including GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID, FBCLID, FBP, FBC, TTCLID, MSCLKID, first-party session IDs, cookies or URL propagation, consent state, and CRM persistence.
  • Deep knowledge of ad-platform payload semantics, including event names, action source, account and action IDs, value and currency, timestamps and time zones, stable event or order IDs, browser/server deduplication, attribution windows, conversion adjustments or redactions, and partial-acceptance diagnostics.
  • Experience mapping CRM objects and lifecycle stages and integrating systems through webhooks, change data capture, and APIs.
  • Ability to prove delivery end to end using synthetic tests, platform diagnostics, reconciliation across source, CRM, database, internal reporting, and ad-platform data, match-quality monitoring, alerting, incident response, and written QA evidence.
  • Experience implementing consent-aware tracking and privacy controls under GDPR, CCPA, and ad-platform policies, including permitted PII collection, normalization and hashing exactly once, data minimization, and sensitive-category restrictions.
  • Strong understanding of API client design, REST and webhook integrations, OAuth and secrets handling, change data capture, rate limits, partial failures, and inter-service communication patterns.
  • Direct production experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ, BullMQ, or SQS, including idempotency, deduplication, retries and backoff, dead-letter handling, replay, and high-volume backfills.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, writing clean, typed, testable, and maintainable API clients, services, and asynchronous workers.
  • Strong PostgreSQL and ORM fundamentals, including Prisma, TypeORM, or equivalent; diagnostic SQL, schema design, query and index optimization, and data retention.
  • Strong working knowledge of paid-media measurement, including funnel and lifecycle event design, primary and secondary conversions, values, attribution windows, match quality, platform learning-volume tradeoffs, and channel differences.
  • Strong Git skills, including branching, pull-request workflows, code review participation, and version-control discipline.
  • Practical fluency with AI development tools and judgment to validate their output.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication, including client-facing technical discovery, implementation documentation, incident updates, and evidence-based explanations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, or Reddit CAPI.
  • Experience with CRM and related tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Attio, GoHighLevel, Typeform, or call-tracking platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively flag implementation gaps, risks, and unverified assumptions before campaigns go live, distinguishing confirmed root causes from working hypotheses.
  • Write implementation and QA summaries that non-engineering Growth Managers can understand and act on; respond to Slack questions within a reasonable window during working hours and ask clarifying questions when needed.
  • Design, build, and maintain client-side and server-side conversion tracking across Meta Pixel/CAPI, Google Ads API and Data Manager API, Enhanced Conversions, offline uploads, TikTok Events API, and other major platforms.
  • Own signal design, event taxonomy, account and action routing, timestamps, value and currency, attribution windows, and tracking accuracy from landing page through ad platform.
  • Build and maintain integrations among client websites and forms, CRMs, call-tracking and scheduling tools, TNT infrastructure, and ad-platform APIs.
  • Implement event-pipeline validation, idempotency, retries and backoff, dead-letter handling, replay and backfill, and audit trails using webhooks, change data capture, OAuth, and queues.
  • Implement and debug GTM, server-side GTM, Google tag and GA4, platform pixels, deterministic dataLayer events, first-party session IDs and cookies, URL propagation, and form injection across redirects, subdomains, SPAs, embedded forms, and booking tools.
  • Preserve and validate advertising identifiers, UTMs, and consent state throughout the funnel.
  • Build platform-correct API payloads and matching logic, including identifier normalization and hashing, consent signals, browser/server event pairing, deduplication, adjustments and redactions, partial-acceptance diagnosis, attribution-window diagnosis, and match-quality improvements.
  • Create synthetic tests that follow real user journeys from landing page through CRM and queues to ad-platform interfaces.
  • Reconcile source, database, CRM, internal reporting, and platform counts; monitor match quality, attribution lag, and delivery failures; produce evidence, alerts, runbooks, and incident updates; and verify fixes after launch.
  • Write clean, well-tested TypeScript for API clients, webhook handlers, and event workers; contribute to automated testing, code review, documentation, and maintainability.
  • Design and operate PostgreSQL schemas for attribution sessions, identities, conversion events, attempts, and delivery status; write diagnostic SQL, optimize queries and indexes, plan retention, and trace data through reporting without exposing sensitive data.
  • Use AI tools to assist with debugging, code generation, documentation, and pattern recognition; validate generated work and protect correctness, security, and maintainability.
  • Communicate root cause, risk, evidence, dependencies, and ETA to Growth Managers, Client Success, client engineers, and platform support; own incidents through verification and follow-up; create reusable standards, runbooks, and guidance.
  • Manage work in Git using effective branching, meaningful commits, clean pull requests, and collaborative review.
