About The Position

Designs and develops mechanical and electrical projects to support site goals for productivity, cost efficiency, reliability, and safety. Manages capital engineering projects to meet defined budget and schedule, including managing outside vendors and suppliers, specifying equipment, and managing physical installation during moves and upgrades. Provides technical support to plant maintenance groups for installation, troubleshooting, process control, and repair of equipment. Drafts and manages all engineering drawings. Participates in Kaizen events and understands factors contributing to KPIs to identify areas of improvement. Some travel may be required to support projects at other plants or perform equipment acceptance testing at vendor facilities (less than 10%).

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years overall manufacturing experience required
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervision
  • Extensive knowledge of advanced machine control concepts and programming of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs
  • Ability to evaluate controls engineering problems, solve controls issues independently, and investigate technical problems and establish procedures and/or corrective actions to avoid reoccurrences
  • Availability to work around the production hours as needed, in a matrix organization
  • Proven Project Management skills
  • Computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS, RSLogix, Siemens TIA Portal) required
