About The Position

ASI is hiring a Senior Controls Engineer in Lake City, MN. This role offers the opportunity to own a project from conception to completion, seeing your work shipped and running on the floor. The position can be hybrid, remote, or involve relocation for the right candidate. The engineer will be responsible for the design, programming, testing, and debugging of PLC and HMI control systems, leading field startups and commissioning, and managing projects end-to-end. This includes design, panel layout, programming, testing, startup, and handoff. The role also involves programming and tuning VFDs and servo/motion systems on multi-axis machinery, producing electrical designs and schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, and interacting directly with customers in the field for training and representation.

Requirements

5+ years designing and commissioning industrial control systems.
2-year degree in Mechatronics, EET, or Electronics (a 4-year EE degree), or equivalent experience.
Strong PLC programming across Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, and RSLogix 500.
FactoryTalk View ME/ SE HMI development.
Hands-on VFD and servo/motion experience.
AutoCAD Electrical proficiency.
Working knowledge of UL 508A panel standards.
Willing to travel and work startup hours.
Professional composure with customers, even when a project gets tense.

Established relationships in industrial automation.

Responsibilities

Design, program, test, and debug PLC and HMI control systems.
