The Senior Controls Engineer leads the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment and machinery for use in manufacturing. This role involves complex applications requiring cross-disciplinary integration and broad application of concepts. The engineer will design and recommend control system architectures, products, components, and applications, while identifying and resolving system integration and interface issues. They will also evaluate and adapt new manufacturing and control technologies, confirm control system functionality and safety compliance through testing, and prepare or review electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls drawings. Collaboration with other engineering teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers is essential. The role ensures the integrity of process and build data collection, provides support to manufacturing and other engineering disciplines, and maintains equipment by performing audits, troubleshooting, defining preventive maintenance, and implementing improvements. Supplier development and delivery management, along with maintaining project documents, are also key responsibilities. The Senior Controls Engineer will work on multiple complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance, validating control system functionality and identifying areas for operational improvement.
