About The Position

As a Controls Engineer, you play a crucial role in ensuring our industrial machinery operates with optimal efficiency, reliability, and precision. You are a cornerstone of our engineering team, equipped with a diverse skill set that covers designing, developing, and testing electrical systems. You participate in on-call rotation every other week, which is essential to continued operations. Your expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming and control systems integration is essential for implementing control algorithms and troubleshooting complex systems. By proactively managing and resolving issues, you ensure smooth and uninterrupted production processes, upholding our standards of excellence. Your contributions are integral to our team's success and our company's leadership in the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering, computer science engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
  • At least five (5) years in a PLC programming position with a focus on Siemens software.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with EPlan and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and integration with instrumentation, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Servo Drives, and Kuka robots.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems for industrial machinery, ensuring seamless integration with control hardware and low voltage systems.
  • Independently design and implement PLC Ladder Logic using Siemens software, optimizing hardware and software for precise process control.
  • Develop automation systems and tools to enhance efficiency, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical design documents, including P&ID drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate implementation.
  • Integrate electrical components with mechanical systems, minimizing errors.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment, identifying defects to ensure rapid issue resolution and sustained efficiency.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to drive project success.
  • Contribute to team dynamics and be willing to work outside core business hours.
  • Ensure clear communication throughout project execution, coordinating information flow among teams and vendors, facilitating smooth project delivery.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and suggest architectural and technological improvements.
  • Manage Structured Query Language (SQL) server databases and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software, optimizing operations and maintaining data integrity.
  • Define departmental standards, develop operational procedures for automation systems, and create comprehensive engineering documentation.
