Senior Controls Engineer | Automation & System Integration
About The Position
This role is for a Senior Controls Engineer who can take full ownership of complex automation systems from concept through commissioning. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where system reliability, technical depth, and large-scale integration are critical. You will join an engineering-driven organization delivering advanced automation and control system integration projects. You will work on technically complex systems in demanding environments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while owning the full control system lifecycle. You will have opportunities for further development, and limited relocation support is available.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls engineering or industrial automation
- Strong experience with PLC programming (Ladder Logic required, Structured Text preferred)
- Experience with platforms such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens
- Solid understanding of industrial automation architecture, electrical system design, and distributed I/O systems
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills within complex control environments
Responsibilities
- Design and develop complete control systems from concept through implementation and commissioning
- Define control architecture, including hardware, software, instrumentation, and industrial networks
- Develop PLC/DCS software using Ladder Logic (required) and Structured Text
- Perform advanced system analysis, including load flow, short circuit protection, harmonics, and timing analysis
- Design and implement safety-critical control systems, including hazard analysis and risk mitigation
- Create detailed engineering documentation, including system descriptions, schematics, and test plans
- Lead commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting in industrial and on-site environments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage vendor scope to meet technical and safety requirements
