[Hybrid] Senior Controls Engineer (Food & Bev Process Systems exp req)
About The Position
Our client in the industrial automation and process systems industry is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to add to their team. In this role, you will lead full project lifecycles for industrial automation and control systems. Leveraging your background in PLC/HMI programming, electrical control panel design, and system integration, you will work closely with clients to deliver customized automation solutions for large-scale manufacturing operations. This role is well-suited for candidates who want to mentor others, are comfortable working directly with customers, and thrive when leading in hands-on project environments. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required
- 10+ years industrial automation and controls programming experience required
- Experience within food, dairy, or beverage manufacturing industries required
- Strong PLC and HMI programming experience required
- Demonstrated expertise in system integration and commissioning required
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley Logix and AutoCAD 2D/3D required
Responsibilities
- Develop automation and control system architecture diagrams
- Design electrical control panels and create schematic drawings using AutoCAD
- Specify control system components and prepare system documentation
- Develop PLC I/O assignments and program using Allen-Bradley Logix platforms (5, 500, 5000)
- Develop HMI/SCADA applications using industry-standard platforms
- Design industrial communication networks and supporting data infrastructure
- Develop custom applications and database integrations using VB.NET and SQL
- Support new/existing client systems and participate in onsite commissioning/startup activities
- Train client operations and maintenance teams on equipment and control system functionality
