Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and 5 years of industrial controls engineering experience; or 9 years of industrial controls engineering experience.

Understanding of Statistical Process Control Systems and ability to interface to controls, automation, Emissions equipment, or Engine Control Units
Understanding and utilization of process controls, i.e., Process Tuning, Thermocouples, Transducers, Meters, Valves, Sensors, etc…
Understanding of Engine Control Systems
Diesel engine testing experience
Ability to program VCL, Python, Uniplot
Understanding of Test Automation Protocols, i.e., EtherCAT, AK Protocol, SCPI, CAN, MODBUS, etc…
A&D iTest Experience
SAP experience
Experience with database management
Excellent background in controls architecture.
Excellent background in device and hardware troubleshooting.
Excellent analytical ability where problems are complex.

Responsibilities

Lead the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the iTest data acquisition system for engine testing.
Utilize knowledge of engine CAN bus systems for effective data acquisition and diagnostics.
Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data collected from engine test benches.
Develop and maintain tools for data analysis and reporting to support engineering and management decisions.
Write, debug, and optimize VCL scripts and Python programs to enhance data acquisition and processing capabilities.
Integrate data acquisition systems with other IT infrastructure and ensure seamless data flow across platforms.
Understand facility infrastructure and its effect on Test Cell Systems.
Diagnose and resolve issues with data acquisition hardware and software, ensuring minimal downtime.
Work closely with engineering teams to understand their data requirements and provide tailored data acquisition solutions.
Create comprehensive documentation for data acquisition processes and provide training to team members.
Identify opportunities for improving data acquisition systems and processes, implementing best practices and new technologies.
Promote a culture of compliance, adhering to the Rolls-Royce Global Code of Conduct and ensuring a safe working environment.
Undertake special projects as required.
