About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator to support our growing Canadian operations. This role is responsible for the review, negotiation, and administration of construction contracts and subcontracts, working closely with project teams to support successful project execution. This is a senior-level, individual contributor role focused on practical, business-oriented contracting. The ideal candidate brings strong construction contract experience, a working knowledge of Canadian practices, and the ability to work effectively in both French and English.

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business, legal studies, procurement, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in construction contract administration
  • Bilingual in French and English (required) – able to read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages
  • Experience negotiating construction contracts and subcontracts
  • Working knowledge of Canadian construction practices across the multiple provinces (e.g., lien/holdback, prompt payment)
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking/reporting tools
  • Strong written communication, organization and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business, legal studies, procurement, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in construction contract administration
  • 2+ years of experience negotiating construction contracts and subcontracts in both French and English
  • 2+ years of professional experience with Canadian construction practices across the multiple provinces (e.g., lien/holdback, prompt payment)
  • Experience working with a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system or document management platform preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts in both English and French, covering Canada and the U.S.
  • Support efficient and practical contract execution aligned with project and business goals
  • Negotiate key commercial terms, including payment provisions, indemnity, insurance, and scope
  • Partner with project managers and internal stakeholders to align contract terms with project requirements
  • Provide guidance on contract obligations and support issue resolution during project execution
  • Identify contractual risks and work with internal teams to develop practical, business-focused solutions
  • Apply working knowledge of Canadian construction practices, including lien/holdback and prompt payment requirements
  • Escalate complex or non-standard issues to the Director of Contracts or legal counsel as needed
  • Manage contracts through the contract lifecycle, including tracking approvals, amendments, and execution
  • Ensure all contract documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained
  • Support reporting, audits, and compliance requirements
