About The Position

Trident Consulting is seeking a Senior Contract Manager for one of our clients in Remote. This is a contract role for a global leader in business and technology services. The Senior Contract Manager will drive the market access contract lifecycle, including business case development, ROI analysis, negotiation, execution, and performance measurement. Responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and executing Value & Access agreements, maintaining knowledge of contract templates and company positions, identifying negotiation risks, and establishing KPIs. The role also involves maintaining contracting policies, promoting data-driven decision-making, providing guidance on contract interpretation and compliance, and partnering cross-functionally with various teams. The Senior Contract Manager will manage electronic contract files, utilize CLM platforms, and stay current with healthcare reform and payer channels. They will also partner with government pricing and rebate operations for accurate reporting and payments, support business reviews, and act as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, including contracting, managed care, account management, sales operations, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and CLM software.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cross-functional problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Juris Doctor, Master's degree, or MBA.
  • Contract management experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution networks, managed care environments, specialty pharmacies, and purchasing group affiliations.
  • Government contracting experience.
  • Proficiency in Contract Logix

Responsibilities

  • Drive the market access contract lifecycle from business case development and ROI analysis through negotiation, execution, and contract performance measurement.
  • Draft, negotiate, review, and execute Value & Access agreements, proposals, and customer communications in accordance with approved guidelines and strategies.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of contract templates and company positions on contract terms; identify negotiation risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Establish, track, analyze, and report KPIs related to contract execution, performance, and compliance.
  • Maintain and update contracting policies, procedures, and processes while identifying best practices.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making through analytics, AI, and other technologies.
  • Provide guidance on contract interpretation, reimbursement strategies, payments, and compliance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with account management, rebate operations, payer marketing, legal, finance, therapeutic areas, government pricing, and compliance teams.
  • Provide guidance on contract compliance and accurate payments impacting forecasting and reserves.
  • Maintain electronic contract files and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Utilize Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms to support contract execution, maintain data integrity, track workflows and key dates, generate reports, and respond to data requests.
  • Maintain current knowledge of healthcare reform and payer channels, including managed care organizations, PBMs, specialty pharmacies, government contracting channels, and healthcare exchanges.
  • Partner with government pricing and rebate operations teams to ensure accurate price reporting, validation, payment calculations, and timely customer payments in Model N.
  • Support periodic business reviews with internal leadership and customers and facilitate contract-related workshops and meetings.
  • Participate in meetings as the subject matter expert for assigned contracts.
