About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator to lead end‑to‑end contract management activities in support of dynamic defense and civilian programs at our Fairfax, VA location. This role plays a critical part in shaping compliant, competitive, and strategically aligned contract actions for a diverse portfolio of customers within HII All Domain operating unit. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of federal contracting and IDIQ management. This role supports a hybrid work schedule out of our Fairfax, VA office.

Requirements

  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop colleagues in contracting principles and practices
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large contract portfolio with a high volume of contract actions
  • Skilled in all contract types, including Cost-Type, FFP, and LH
  • Experienced with agreement types such as NDAs, TAs, MOUs, IDIQs, and BOAs
  • Strong understanding of Outcomes-Based, Performance-Based, and “X as a Service” contracting models
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with diverse internal business partners and all levels of management
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled at handling high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and program needs

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including creation of contract-specific estimating templates
  • Strong understanding of FAR and DFARS
  • Proven ability to create, maintain, and improve policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Experience supporting cross-functional proposal and contracting teams

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of standard and non‑standard contracts, including administration, negotiation, modifications, extensions, and closeout
  • Support proposal development by preparing contract volumes, contributing to pricing strategies, and ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Lead contract negotiations with customers and partners in alignment with company policies, FAR/DFARS requirements, and customer specifications
  • Review estimates, pricing data, material and service requirements, and performance criteria for completeness and compliance
  • Prepare bids and maintain contract‑specific documentation, reports, and historical records
  • Serve as a primary liaison with internal teams and external customers, advising leadership on contractual rights, obligations, risks, and opportunities
  • Analyze contract data, performance metrics, and financial impacts to support decision‑making
  • Develop and maintain contract‑specific estimating tools and templates
  • Share knowledge and best practices through training, mentoring, and consistent guidance to teammates
