About The Position

NORR is an employee-owned global architecture and engineering firm with 750 professionals across Canada, the US, UK, and UAE. They focus on design thinking and sustainability. The Public Studio team works with public sector decision-makers on projects ranging from government campuses and embassies to cultural buildings and museums, guiding them through the entire project cycle. This role involves observing construction to ensure contractors and owners meet their contractual obligations, assisting with document clarifications, technical interpretations, financial progress reviews, and constructability reviews.

Requirements

  • Architectural or engineering systems design and presentation, M&E and structural building systems, permit and building code
  • Experience in strategic development, business development, project management, and client management is required
  • Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • 10+ years of project work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Registered with a relevant professional association is an asset
  • Experience in Public projects is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform site visits to determine compliance with construction contract and relevant building and safety codes; prepare reports to document progress, identify any deviation from the construction contract and liaise with owner and contractor to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Track and review shop drawings, schedules, samples, progress payments, alternate requests, and project change documents to ensure all project documentation is accurate and complete
  • Coordinate with contractor, sub-consultants, or relevant building authorities to address and document issues with constructability or owner concerns
  • Prepare project change documentation, including sketches and drawings
  • Attend and conduct progress meetings before, during, and after the duration of the project to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns with various key stakeholders
  • Ensure that all project close out documents are submitted and forwarded to appropriate parties upon completion of the project
