About The Position

ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer to join its global Support Services team. This role provides consultative support to enterprise customers, blending hands-on engineering, development assistance, and high-tier support. The engineer will work directly with strategic customers, offering guidance, case answers, and technical oversight. Additionally, they will assist with support cases across L1 to L3 tiers when not assigned to larger projects. The position involves project engineering, consulting, and consultative support, contributing to the product roadmap and account plans, developing content, and assisting with hiring and mentoring new team members. Availability for scheduling and on-call needs is required for 24x7 support in a global, distributed environment, with up to 35% estimated onsite regional travel.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management roles.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems ("DBMS").
  • Technical breadth and depth in relevant subjects such as DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, System or Network Administration, and big data.
  • Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
  • Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offering (e.g. EC2).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a team member on customer projects, focusing on design, architecture, integration, implementation, and documentation.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, performance and functional testing, create reference architectures, and assist with sizing, migration, integration, development, and tooling.
  • Provide case-initiated consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects, assisting with implementation, onboarding, production launches, and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Offer architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on tasks.
  • Handle L1 to L3 cases and communications as a member of the Support Team when not actively assigned to customer projects.
  • Partner closely with ClickHouse Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to contribute to the product roadmap and account plans.
  • Develop and assist with a wide range of content, including Public and Internal Documentation, Knowledge Base articles, ClickHouse Learning, Reference Architecture, blogs, and benchmark results.
  • Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members.
  • Be available for scheduling and on-call needs to deliver high-quality 24x7 support in a global, distributed environment.
  • Perform up to 35% estimated onsite regional travel.
