Senior Consultant, Imports, Trade, Compliance & Customs
About The Position
FTI Consulting is seeking trade compliance professionals to independently manage project tasks involving customs compliance, tariff classification, valuation, duty mitigation, Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZs), and sourcing regulations such as Buy America/Buy American. Senior Consultants play a critical role in client project execution, analysis, and communications, with opportunities to contribute to program development and knowledge sharing. The role requires travel to clients and FTI offices as needed. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 4 years of relevant trade compliance and customs experience.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not provided.
- Ability to travel to clients and FTI offices as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Licensed Customs Broker or relevant certifications.
- Familiarity with trade compliance software such as SAP GTS, QAD, or Thomson Reuters.
- Experience in regulated industries.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of client project components and detailed compliance analyses.
- Support investigations, audit responses, and regulatory inquiries under guidance.
- Prepare client reports, presentations, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in developing compliance programs and training materials.
- Collaborate with team members and mentor junior staff.
