About The Position

We seek a Senior Consultant based out of our office at 4554 Glenmeade Lane, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this position does not require travel. Conduct market analysis for key market drivers and trends in the U.S. automotive industry, which includes analyzing the legislation in target segments, determine how they are evolving, and their expected impact on future product portfolio. Support automotive and industrial clients with baselining current operations by looking into company background financials, product portfolio, skills and capabilities, engineering and purchasing cost reductions and product development, manufacturing and quality processes. Analyze and assess current problems and complex issues faced by organization's clients, as it relates to processes, products and their competitiveness as well as skills and capabilities. Conduct interdisciplinary collaboration with technical specialists, which includes interviewing technical experts to analyze technology roadmaps for 2030 (and beyond), based on legislative changes and customer requirements evolution. Develop and execute innovative business strategies. Analyze complex problems by developing hypotheses, data collection, model creation, primary and secondary research, and navigating information limitations to achieve desired results. Own and lead individual project modules, synthesizing insights in executive-level presentations to internal FEV and external client audiences including managers and executives. Ensure interdisciplinary teamwork with consultants and technical specialists from our locations in the US, Europe, and Asia. Provide coaching and mentoring to junior-level colleagues to facilitate their professional skills growth.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, Financial Management, or a related field.
  • 36 months of experience in job offered or related position in business or technology.
  • Experience with internal combustion engine systems (gasoline and diesel) for automotive applications (passenger vehicles and heavy-duty), fuel and emission reduction measures and legislative environment.
  • Experience with hydrogen infrastructure development (storage, transportation, distribution), hydrogen use cases and key market trends and public and private investment plans.
  • Experience with hydrogen vehicle technologies, particularly for heavy-duty truck applications: onboard storage systems (compressed, liquid, cryo-compressed), fuel cell technologies and additional systems.
  • Experience with automotive electrification as it pertains to key market trends and legislative environment per region, OEM activities and roadmap, and electrification technologies and systems.
  • Experience with battery technologies, including electrotechnics, electrochemistry and energy management.
  • Experience with electrical grid quality phenomenon, areas and frequency of occurrence, legislation, and impact and mitigation on automotive power electronics components.
  • Experience with electrical grid support through V2x systems as it pertains to legislative environment, communication protocols, and power electronics systems required.
  • Experience with engineering skills evaluation for large automotive companies, including definition and execution of evaluation process, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and data analysis and data visualization.
