About The Position

West Monroe is seeking a Senior Consultant for their Operations Excellence practice within the Enterprise Strategy & Execution (ES&E) discipline. This role focuses on supporting clients through large technology transformation initiatives, including transformation office setup and execution, program/project management of key workstreams, value management, and vendor management. ES&E consultants provide comprehensive solutions to transform operations by managing transformations, strategically sourcing, and optimizing people, processes, and technology. Experience in developing and enhancing methodologies and tools, and integrating them with other consulting solutions, is also expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 4+ years of experience in various aspects of program/portfolio management, transformation office (TO), and major technology systems implementation with at least one of the following: Full lifecycle major system implementation (e.g. ERP, CRM, HCM) with project/program management or lead business analyst role, Part of a Transformation office overseeing a large portfolio of initiatives & value realization, Part of a technology workstream for a merger or carve-out in a moderate-to-high complexity transaction.
  • Clear understanding and experience in SDLC and associated program and portfolio management methodologies (including but not limited to PMI, waterfall, iterative, Agile, Scrum, and SAFe).
  • Experience leveraging program and portfolio management tools such as MS Project, Planview, Clarity, and Smartsheet.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to create impactful and concise executive stakeholder-ready deliverables, and polished client-facing oral communication skills.
  • Strong data visualization and analysis skills; comfortable using tools like Excel to analyze data and present key insights in a compelling way.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Demonstrated success within one or more of West Monroe’s core industries including Consumer & Industrial Products, Healthcare (payer/provider), Life Sciences, High Tech & Software, Utilities, Insurance, Banking, and/or Private Equity.
  • Ability to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a program/project management role for large-scale enterprise technology transformations; structure and manage your own work and the work of others within a workstream; support workstream planning and execution by collaborating with team members and client functional and technical leads.
  • Support stand-up and execution of Transformation Offices that integrate program governance, technology delivery, change management, enterprise architecture, and benefits tracking.
  • Serve on client delivery teams as a program/project manager; structure and manage your own work and the work of others within a workstream according to project workplan and Statement of Work (SOW); support workstream planning and execution by collaborating with team members and client functional and technical leads.
  • Partner with third-party system integrators, developing integrating plans and holding delivery partners accountable for scope, quality, timeline, and outcomes.
  • Structure and lead deliverables via thorough and effective data gathering, generate sound hypotheses, and deliver high-quality analyses.
  • Build practice area capabilities, identify and scope practice development initiatives, lead onboarding activities, and lead training delivered to the practice.
  • Actively participate in proposal development by synthesizing client asks and issues while mapping West Monroe methodologies and reviewing client materials to determine appropriate scope as well as potential areas out-of-scope.
  • Contribute to thought leadership development aligned to specific engagement (blogs, articles, white papers).
  • Assist team members in integrating effectively into the team, providing instruction, assistance, and coaching on methodologies and work approach.
  • Model and mentor more junior-level consultants day-to-day in personifying West Monroe values with clients, on project teams, and within individual relationships.
  • May serve as a Career Advisor to an intern or more junior-level consultant.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and selecting campus and experienced new hire consultants.
