About The Position

As Senior Consultant, Risk Analytics, within the Risk Business Intelligence Office (RBIO), you will apply your strong reporting and data analysis skillsets, combined with an understanding of Risk Management to further RBIO’s purpose of “Acting as a trusted advisor” by enhancing risk domain business intelligence in CIBC. Your accountabilities include taking ownership of the assigned monthly and quarterly wholesale credit risk reporting to various CIBC partner teams as well as to the regulators. You will also be accountable for developing detailed requirements ensuring high data quality in the development and maintenance of robust reporting and analytic solutions in collaboration with various teams across Product, Finance, Risk, and Technology. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

Experience in project delivery related to data warehousing and reporting, business intelligence, and/or data analytics focused roles in the banking sector.
Proficiency in SQL, writing queries.
Knowledge in Wholesale and Capital Markets Reporting.
Familiarity in accounting standards such as Expected Credit Loss reporting as well as BASEL requirements on Risk Weighted Assets reporting.
A degree in Business, Finance, Risk, and/or related field.
Ability to investigate complex problems and make sense of information.
Ability to communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
Ability to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results.

Responsibilities

Taking ownership of assigned monthly and quarterly wholesale credit risk reporting to various CIBC partner teams and regulators.
Developing detailed requirements ensuring high data quality in the development and maintenance of robust reporting and analytic solutions in collaboration with various teams across Product, Finance, Risk, and Technology.
Building strong trustful relationships with team members inside RBIO and with partner teams.
Running a project or process to completion by taking on the role of an owner, solving for roadblocks and proactively identifying possible issues for the overall success of the group.
Providing advice to your team, including ongoing feedback, support, and mentorship.
Monitoring data quality, raising data quality issues, and taking ownership to solve them in both production reporting and project delivery settings.
Providing analysis and support to the group with concepts around ingesting, measuring, monitoring, and reporting wholesale risk data to regulators and senior management.
Acting as a liaison between business and technology groups.
Understanding processes related to project delivery such as requirements analysis and user acceptance testing.
Identifying obstacles or risks that may impact a project’s timeline or success and providing regular status updates to the business.
Keeping lines of communication open with stakeholders and escalating issues when necessary.
Ensuring that all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to the project’s timeline, budget and goals.
Leading the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases.
Designing and managing end-to-end testing activities for various projects across the business.
