About The Position

The Network Industries Strategies (“NIS”) group at FTI Consulting uses economic and financial analysis and network modeling to analyze complex issues involving pricing, valuation, and costs of service across the spectrum of network industries. Our rail and transportation team provides deep industry, market, and regulatory expertise to North America’s freight railroads and other transportation clients. We build sophisticated costing and pricing models, evaluate our clients’ key commercial and contractual relationships, assess competitive markets and asset values in support of transactions, and develop expert testimony before courts, arbitration panels, and regulatory bodies such as the Surface Transportation Board — helping carriers evaluate transactions, defend the reasonableness of their rates and services, negotiate contracts, quantify damages in disputes, and maximize the value of their network assets.
