About The Position

Stout is looking for a Senior Consultant to support our Industrials practice and join our growing firm. At Stout, expectations are high but empowering. Requirements

  • BA or BS required with a clear track record of academic excellence in fields such as Economics, Business, Finance, or Data Science
  • Two to four years of prior experience (including internship experience) in research, consulting, corporate development, private equity, or similar experience preferred
  • A strong desire to learn about Industrial industries (e.g. automotive, aerospace, off-highway machinery, manufacturing, etc.) and PE / Investor industries
  • An aptitude for networking and executive-level interviewing
  • Well-honed business acumen and analytical skills
  • A desire to learn and demonstrated ability to master new subject areas quickly
  • Strong communication, writing, and critical-thinking skills
  • Work ethic, dedicated, organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
  • Time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Advanced skill set in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Familiarity with or interest in using AI tools & technology to enhance productivity, research, and analysis
  • Proficiency in developing financial and market models, market analysis, and quantitative data analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business, management, finance, or other relevant degree preferred
  • Foreign language capabilities are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support in hypotheses generation to inform research, analytical approaches, and credentialization in key client industries (e.g. automotive, aerospace, off-highway machinery, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Conduct original primary research by leading executive-level interviews to inform key diligence workstreams
  • Support the development of and/or validation of financial, commercial, and other assumptions for strategic business cases
  • Support M&A processes (primarily for PE clientele), including buy-side and sell-side commercial diligences
  • Support the execution of typical M&A diligence workstreams, such as generating market sizing and forecasting models, conducting customer surveys, performing competitive analysis, etc.
  • Manage relationships with key external vendors (e.g. expert networks, etc.)
  • Positively contribute to the dynamic, high-achieving atmosphere of the firm
