Senior Consultant, Data and Reporting
About The Position
As the Senior Consultant, Regulatory Data & Reporting, you will play a key role in driving regulatory programs for Canadian Banking. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of data-driven insights and solutions. This work will leverage advanced Data Engineering technologies including Python and SQL. Success in this role requires hands-on experience with Databricks, strong proficiency in Python and SQL, and the ability to work across complex data environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and regulatory requirements into actionable data solutions, ensuring compliance and supporting strategic decision-making. Additionally, you must bring an open mind and a flexible approach to problem-solving, as regulatory requirements and business priorities can evolve rapidly. Adaptability, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential to thrive in this dynamic environment. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of work experience with data engineering tools such as Databricks, SQL, Python and business intelligence tools such as PowerBI.
- Knowledge of internal banking processes and how they translate into data outputs.
- Business product knowledge such as mortgages, lending, deposit products, etc.

Responsibilities
- Create complex processes that sources, modifies and checks for data quality before loading to the destination tables.
- Ability to understand the process from front line application to end report and being able to design the best way to prepare and store the data for end user reporting.
- Develop reports and answer ad hoc request.
- Ability to answer and explain the data in the reports to business users.
- Find client improvement opportunities and build comprehensive data analysis.
- Partner with end users, managers & directors to prioritize work and set goals on deliverables.
- Answer business data questions, investigate data quality/SLA issues and communicate resolution expectations.
