About The Position

Using discretion and judgment, provides advanced compensation expertise, analytics, and consultation to support MFS’s business and talent objectives. Owns complex compensation workstreams or capabilities, translating data, policy, and market insights into clear recommendations and decision-ready guidance. Partners closely with Compensation leadership, HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure compensation programs and practices are effective, consistent, and aligned with MFS’s Compensation Philosophy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area.
  • 6–8+ years of experience in compensation, financial analysis or closely related analytical discipline.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience using market data and analytics to inform recommendations and decisions.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including building and maintaining complex models and analyses

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of compensation regulations, job evaluation, and external benchmarking practices.
  • Experience with compensation and HRIS tools (e.g., Workday, MarketPay).
  • Experience providing consultative / center‑of‑expertise support (influencing without direct authority).

Responsibilities

  • Owns and leads complex compensation programs, processes, or functional capabilities (e.g., market data, governance, annual planning, partnering standards), operating independently within established frameworks.
  • Applies deep compensation knowledge to evaluate issues, identify risks, and develop practical, value-added solutions aligned with MFS’s Compensation Philosophy.
  • Leverages compensation analytics and external market data to assess competitiveness, internal equity, and program effectiveness.
  • Interprets data and trends to develop insights, scenarios, and recommendations that inform compensation decisions and planning.
  • Provides senior-level consultation to HR partners, Finance, and business stakeholders on compensation matters, including interpretation of guidelines and application of market data.
  • Ensures compensation programs and processes are executed with appropriate controls, documentation, and governance to support consistency, auditability, and risk management.
  • Continuously evaluates compensation processes, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Leads mid-to-large compensation projects, managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Works collaboratively across the Compensation team, sharing expertise and contributing to broader functional initiatives; may provide informal guidance to more junior team members.
