About The Position

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned commercial construction Senior Superintendent in Culpeper, VA (Piedmont County, Virginia). Join our team of professionals! This role provides overall on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction activities and phases. The Senior Superintendent is responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities. They will engage as a primary client contact for jobsite activities and coordinate with client representatives on jobsite activities. Responsibilities include ensuring assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. The role requires interfacing with all other administrative field staff, field management staff, and project leadership to ensure project goals.

Requirements

BS Engineering, Construction Management or related curriculum and 8 years of experience in commercial construction or AS and 10 years of relevant experience or HSD/GED and 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple subcontractors on large, complex construction sites.
Expert knowledge of daily construction means, methods and sequencing.
Strong understanding of project scheduling and productivity tracking.
Advanced ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts and schedules.
Ability to enforce and communicate AECOM policies/procedures/training.
Experience in jobsite safety; enforcement of corporate/industry/OSHA safety policies & standards.
Experience with and enforcement of jobsite documentation including daily reports, incident/injury reports, project photo’s, progress logs, delivery schedules, safety/toolbox talks and other documentation.

Nice To Haves

8 years of progressive commercial construction experience with 5 years as a Superintendent on large-scale project.
MEP/datacenter experience preferred.
Experience supervising and mentoring of Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents and field staff.
Proficiency with construction management software preferred (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
Excellent planning/communication/writing/priority management skills.
OSHA certifications or ability to obtain (10 & 30hr).

Responsibilities

Interface with all other administrative field staff, field management staff and project leadership to ensure project goals.
Lead all day-to-day jobsite operations, including construction activity and management of sub-contractors and third-party vendors.
Update the master project schedule and ensure timely completion by all subcontractors and vendors.
Manage jobsite safety; enforcement of corporate/industry/OSHA safety policies & standards.
Manage and track permitting process with expeditors, locals AHJ’s and local community.
