About The Position

Shaw Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Scheduler to join our team in Denver. This is a hands-on role for a construction scheduling professional who can build detailed CPM schedules from the ground up and provide leadership, oversight, and guidance across our project portfolio. The ideal candidate brings deep field-rooted scheduling experience and the ability to translate complex construction sequences into actionable, accurate schedules. Responsible to protect and promote the interest of Shaw in all matters.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree and a minimum of five years of hands-on construction scheduling experience required
  • Experience in the field or in a construction operations role strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build complex CPM schedules from scratch, without reliance on templates or inherited schedules
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and ASTA Powerproject required
  • Working knowledge of MS Project a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of general construction practices, techniques, construction document reading, and construction means, methods, and materials
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method scheduling, schedule analysis, time extension requests, types of delays, and claims support
  • Ability to recognize sequencing concerns and opportunities for improvement during jobsite visits
  • Experience performing schedule impact analysis and presenting delay impacts to ownership and clients
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across different personalities and project teams
  • Must be capable of working independently and possess strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Daily travel required within the Denver metro area and project sites, with some overnight travel

Responsibilities

  • Build detailed CPM schedules from scratch for projects in preconstruction and through all phases of construction, using contract documents, concept drawings, and schematic construction documents as the basis
  • Create proposals and detailed construction schedules to assist Marketing, Pre-Construction, and Operations teams
  • Visit jobsites regularly to review job status, assess schedule sequencing, identify areas of concern, and provide actionable feedback to project teams and executives
  • Lead critical path analysis for complex or problem projects, including root cause analysis, delay identification, and development of recovery schedules
  • Provide data and resources to adjust schedules for market and regional factors including materials markets, labor force availability, and seasonal weather patterns
  • Guide project teams in assessing construction sequencing and methods, project delays and impacts, alternate work plans, and recovery schedules
  • Coordinate with subcontractors on schedule issues and support project teams in resolving conflicts and maintaining project timelines
  • Attend kick-off and coordination meetings (MEP, large systems, etc.) to establish relationships with subcontractor key personnel and Owner/Client representatives as needed
  • Prepare monthly reports tracking schedule progress across the project portfolio
  • Develop and deliver CPM planning and scheduling training programs for operations and self-perform staff
  • Train Shaw employees on scheduling software and best practices
  • Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required
