About The Position

The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects and facility initiatives. Projects range from major renovations and tenant improvements to building system upgrades, deferred maintenance, and new site development. This role provides end-to-end project leadership, ensuring projects align with operational needs, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and long-term facility strategies. Serving as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, facilities operations, external consultants, and contractors, the Senior Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations. This position requires strong technical expertise, proactive risk management, and the ability to balance capital project delivery with day-to-day facility considerations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management, Architecture, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in facilities project management, construction project management, or architectural project management.
  • Experience managing projects in occupied facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (MEP, life safety, building envelope) and facility operations.
  • Thorough understanding of architectural and engineering construction documents.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam or Adobe and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to review construction documents for constructability and long-term maintainability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • High level of integrity, dependability, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive scopes of work for facilities, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects from concept through completion.
  • Create and maintain project execution plans that account for operational continuity and occupant impact.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and overall project controls throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Coordinate internal and external project design and construction activities to ensure on time and on budget delivery.
  • Ensure fiscal accountability through cost tracking, change management, and financial reporting.
  • Assess existing building conditions and incorporate lifecycle, maintenance, and asset considerations into planning.
  • Interpret and apply building codes, zoning ordinances, ADA requirements, and life-safety standards.
  • Develop strategies to obtain required permits and regulatory approvals.
  • Oversee construction activities from initiation through completion in occupied and active facilities.
  • Review architectural, engineering, and MEP designs for constructability, maintainability, and alignment with facility standards.
  • Coordinate FF&E installation and space planning activities as applicable.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, quality, and operational impacts.
  • Coordinate system commissioning, testing, and turnover to facilities operations teams.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend qualified contractors, architects, engineers, and facility-related vendors.
  • Lead bid solicitation, analysis, and award recommendations; administer contracts and construction management activities.
  • Oversee contractor, architect, and vendor performance to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, safety, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Review and approve contractor pay applications, reconcile costs, and approve change orders and contract amendments.
  • Maintain strong working relationships to support efficient issue resolution and project delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with facilities operations, IT, security, safety, and business units.
  • Conduct site visits and oversee construction activities as needed to ensure adherence to approved plans and organizational standards.
  • Communicate project goals, progress, risks, and impacts to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Partner with facilities and operations teams to plan outages, shutdowns, and phasing strategies.
  • Monitor project milestones, schedules, and interdependencies; recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize operational disruption.
  • Proactively resolve issues impacting cost, schedule, safety, or quality.
  • Participate in punch list inspections and oversee project completion.
  • Lead project closeout activities, including documentation, handoff, and post‑project evaluations.
  • Ensure all records are properly archived and transferred to facilities systems.
  • Know by name and face as many customers and employees as possible, calling them by name as often as possible.
