About The Position

The Senior Project Manager for Retail Buildouts is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the full life-cycle management of projects annually across the Americas, ranging from high-visibility new openings to complex renovations. Operating as the primary liaison between executive HQ stakeholders, store operations, and external contractors, this individual oversees everything from initial lease review and technical design redlining to the management of multimillion-dollar budgets and granular construction schedules. The role requires a sophisticated balance of technical construction expertise and operational empathy, ensuring that project phasing and vendor delivery schedules are executed on budget while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards. From the initial landlord kick-off call to the final submission of tenant allowance packages and closeout documents, the Senior PM ensures every detail of the physical retail environment aligns with the company’s strategic goals and aesthetic vision. We follow an office policy with an expectation of five days per week working onsite. Being together in person helps us collaborate, stay connected, and build a strong team culture. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in engineering, architecture, or construction project management from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 8+ years’ experience in retail construction or similar experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects across various phases while keeping them on budget, delivering them on time, and maintaining a high standard.
  • Excellent knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes uncertain environment.
  • Enthusiasm for the company’s mission and a strong desire to contribute to its growth and success.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 20% of the time by land and air within and outside of the United States.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (e.g., seated or at a desk) for extended periods while operating a computer or other office equipment
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full life cycle of special projects, renovations, and retail buildouts in North and South America
  • Act as the primary liaison between store teams, HQ stakeholders, and contractors/vendors
  • Define project milestones and overall schedules in alignment with Real Estate and leadership
  • Develop sequence schedules and phasing plans to minimize disruption to customers and operations
  • Coordinate permitting with expeditors and architects while ensuring buy-in from internal teams
  • Review and assist with the negotiation of Landlord Work Letters
  • Attend Landlord Kick-off calls to ensure alignment on project-specific requirements
  • Review and redline Preliminary Design Sets to identify risks and long-lead materials
  • Manage the competitive bidding and award process with contractors and vendors
  • Create and communicate Vendor Delivery Schedules (VDS) for owner-supplied materials
  • Approve project Shop Drawings and Submittals in tandem with the design team
  • Lead weekly OAC calls to review project status with all stakeholders
  • Review and approve GC Payment Applications and supplier invoices
  • Validate and recommend approval for potential Change Orders
  • Maintain accurate budget forecasts with the Construction Finance Manager
  • Perform regular site visits to ensure quality and schedule compliance
  • Generate and monitor the completion of contractor punch lists
  • Hold vendors to premium standards of quality, safety, and professionalism
  • Support Store Operations during merchandising and reactivation periods
  • Obtain all final closeout documents and lien waivers for Tenant Allowance requests
  • Maintain comprehensive project files for all correspondence and transmittals
