This is advanced, responsible professional and administrative work managing the construction of capital improvement projects for the City of Miami. An individual in this capacity will work as part of the Capital Improvements Program Management Team and will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring consultants, contractors, testing laboratories, inspectors, and City departments engaged in the planning, procurement, construction, closeout, and warranty administration of municipal capital projects, including roadway infrastructure, drainage, public right-of-way, facility, and other assigned improvements. Work involves managing multiple projects through the construction phase; reviewing plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, bid and contract documents, payment requisitions, change requests, time extensions, claims, inspection reports, and closeout records; coordinating procurement and contract execution activities; conducting pre-construction and progress meetings; monitoring project budgets, schedules, quality, safety compliance, and documentation; and maintaining accurate project information in the City's electronic project management system. The employee serves as a primary point of coordination among project stakeholders and provides timely customer service and issue resolution to City departments, residents, businesses, and other affected parties. The exercise of independent judgment will be routinely required. This position reports to the Assistant Director or his/her designee.
