Join King County's Facilities Engineering and Science Section (FESS) within the Solid Waste Division (SWD) as a Senior Construction Manager (Engineer III). This role offers a significant opportunity to leverage your construction management, engineering, and project management expertise to influence the future of construction management within the division. As a key member of SWD’s owner’s representative team, you will provide construction leadership, oversight, and coordination for capital projects. You will collaborate with contractors, construction management firms, design firms, project managers, project engineers, and SWD stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and meet contract requirements, quality standards, and project objectives. This position will lead construction projects at SWD’s eight (8) Recycling and Transfer Stations (RTS) and closed landfills across King County. Utilizing multiple construction management work order contracts, you will manage construction inspections, consultant contracts, project documentation, construction compliance, and commissioning. Projects will range in scope and complexity, including major equipment replacements, significant infrastructure repair by replacement, the construction of a new RTS, and the development of a new permanent facility. Responsibilities also include pre-construction planning, utility coordination, constructability reviews, and permitting coordination. During the dry season, expect to spend most of your work week on-site at various RTS locations, with limited remote work. During the wet season, on-site presence at SWD locations will average three days per week, with the remainder available for remote work.
