About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with more than 2,800 professionals, is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector for its Construction Management Team. The role applies standard inspection procedures to construction activities during and after construction to assess structural quality, general safety, and conformance with plans, specifications, and codes. Compensation is $36.00–$44.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications; the actual range may vary based on the selected candidate’s experience. Requirements

• Client-requested certifications.
• Strong computer proficiency.
• Active driver's license.
• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement for compliance with plans and codes.
• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.
• Assign, schedule, and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the project.
• Represent the client in drafting project correspondence, facilitating project meetings, and resolving construction-related field issues.
• Gather and maintain record documents.
• Make field notes and computations.
• Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
