About The Position

JMT is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector for its Virginia Beach Construction Management Team. The position applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction to assess structural quality, general safety, and conformance with plans, specifications, and codes. Compensation is $36.00–$47.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications. Responsibilities

Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement for compliance with plans and codes.
Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.
Assign, schedule, and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases.
Act on behalf of the client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction-related field issues.
Gather and maintain record documents.
Make field notes and computations.
Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and internal and external parties to respond to inquiries.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
