About The Position

The Senior Construction Engineer, EPC is primarily responsible for providing technical engineering information to company supervision and crafts to ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes and specifications. This role actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values,” representing the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” The engineer will interpret designs or drawings for crafts installing material, research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors, and prepare “as built” drawings as required. They will also prepare, submit, and track submittals, RFIs (requests for information), and maintain all required documentation records such as drawing and spec revisions, line and valve lists, progress status reports, and punch lists. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and commenting on the constructability of design, conducting value-engineering functions, attending coordination meetings with other contractors, clients, or A/E representatives, and taking meeting notes. The Senior Construction Engineer will provide oversight to the preparation of test packages and turnover packages, obtain necessary building permits, and coordinate inspection and testing services. They will assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendents with planning and scheduling, and maintain liaison with project management, clients, and subcontractors on all controls related items and functions, including reporting requirements, budgets, and cash flow. Ensuring that corporate cost control and estimating standards are implemented and that all project-related activities comply is also a key responsibility. The role may involve other related duties as directed.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering required
  • 8+ years related engineering experience
  • Strong skill set in understanding PFDs and P&IDs; 3D and 2D routing, equipment and piping specifications, and development of isometric drawings is required
  • Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, documentation, practices, vendor data approvals, etc.
  • Experience using standard computer programs.
  • Cooperate with other team members; interact with individuals at all organizational levels in professional manner
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under time sensitive deadlines
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • MS degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is desirable
  • Knowledge of API, AWS and ACI standards, industry practices and ASME Section VIII is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera is preferred
