The Connectivity team is seeking a Software Engineer with deep expertise in device software development and connectivity stacks. The role focuses on developing, integrating, and optimizing device software to deliver reliable, high-performance user experiences across Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and emerging device-to-device transport technologies. The engineer will contribute to connectivity innovations for modern enterprise environments, addressing performance, reliability, and low-latency communication challenges across Android, Windows, Linux, and embedded platforms. The position involves collaboration with chipset vendors, industry partners, and internal engineering teams to resolve system-level issues and optimize end-to-end connectivity performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in device software development, including connectivity features, performance tuning, and debugging.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing software SDKs or frameworks on Android, Linux, or similar operating system platforms.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, C, C++, or Objective-C.
  • Solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, debugging, and system-level architecture.
  • Familiarity with radio standards such as 802.11 and Bluetooth, and understanding of related protocol stacks.
  • Experience collaborating across hardware, operating system, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Ability to work independently, drive technical tasks to closure, and clearly communicate root-cause findings to senior leadership and partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems programming for performance-critical wireless features.
  • Strong understanding of peer-to-peer technologies and sensing techniques.
  • Experience working directly with wireless chipset vendors to optimize connectivity performance and resolve interoperability issues.
  • Comfort working across Linux, Windows, embedded systems, cloud-managed networks, and mobile operating system stacks.
  • Expertise in wireless performance analysis using tools such as Wireshark, logging frameworks, and low-level tracing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate connectivity software features across Android, Windows, and embedded platforms, including SDKs, frameworks, and system services.
  • Implement, optimize, and tune wireless networking protocols and sensing algorithms for enterprise-scale architectures and deployments.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot peer-to-peer technologies for secure, reliable, and low-latency connectivity across diverse networking scenarios.
  • Collaborate with wireless chipset vendors, industry partners, and internal engineering teams to align designs, debug system-level issues, and optimize end-to-end connectivity performance.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex wireless behavior, including performance degradation, QoS bottlenecks, interoperability issues, and security constraints in large-scale networks.
