About The Position

Christman Mid Atlantic Constructors, LLC (CSEC) is seeking a Senior Concrete Project Manager for its Knoxville, Tennessee region. Senior Project Managers are responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of multiple large, complex projects. This role involves serving as the primary point of contact with clients, overseeing financial management, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution, and contractor relations. The position also manages the Preconstruction and Construction phases of assigned projects, assists in developing project procurement documents, and oversees the cost/change management process. The Senior Concrete Project Manager will compare client needs to contractual obligations, ensure professional management services are provided, and partner with the Design Team to coordinate design packages with schedules. Resource allocation, establishing subcontract agreements, executing contractual risk protections, and modeling safety awareness are also key aspects of this role. Additionally, the position involves partnering with governing authorities for inspections and approvals, setting project and program expectations, and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or other relevant course work.
  • Ten (10) or more years of work experience in construction or a related job field.
  • Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact with clients, and oversees all aspects of the project including financial management, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution and contractor relations.
  • Manages the Preconstruction and Construction phases of assigned projects.
  • Assists in the development of project procurement documents for various delivery methods.
  • Oversees the cost/change management process from start to finish for assigned projects.
  • Compares assessment of client needs to contractual obligations and delivery professional management services by Christman Mid-Atlantic team and all contracted trades, vendors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure that proper service is provided to the client.
  • Partners with Design Team to coordinate delivery of design packages with schedules for estimating, bidding, and construction.
  • Allocates project resources based on project demands, and adjusts resource needs throughout the project life cycle.
  • Establishes subcontract agreements and work scopes for all trade contractors and communicates expectations and responsibilities related to project planning, coordination with other trades, safety, and proactive definition of work quality.
  • Executes contractual risk protections by determining Builder’s Risk Insurance approach for the project (Owner or Christman provided) and ensures required coverage amounts and dates.
  • Models safety awareness and planning at all times, observe safety practices on site and promptly address any unsafe situations or behaviors, reporting violations and coordinating corrective actions to the project superintendent.
  • Partners with governing authorities responsible for inspections and approvals to proactively understand requirements and potential concerns, and develop plans to fulfill or exceed standards.
  • Establishes work and authority scopes for all project team members and trade contractors and communicates expectations and responsibilities related to project planning, coordination with other trades, safety, and proactive definition of work quality.
  • Sets and continually manages project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
