Requirements

Bachelor or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND Three (3) years of experience in Computational Linguistics.
OR High School Diploma/GED AND a minimum of Ten (10) years of experience in software development (course work and internship experience considered) in lieu of the bachelor’s degree education requirement.
Two (2) years of professional experience with grammars and parsing, corpus analysis.
Two (2) years of professional experience with data annotation or medical coding and documentation.
Experience with regular expressions.
Four (4) years of experience in software development (course work and internship experience considered).
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in a Linguistics or related field with an emphasis on computational linguistics, corpus analysis, syntax/morphology or related.
Experience with Python.
Proficiency with regular expressions.
Experience handling/transforming different formats including HTML, XML, JSON.
Experience with GitHub (merge/resolve conflicts) or other version control.
Experience with Java.
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Supporting clinical Natural Language Understanding (NLU) system by maintaining and improving grammars, parsers, and terminologies.
Extracting, manipulating, and analyzing textual data and annotations using Python and batch scripts.
Determining solutions and priorities for NLU issues and enhancement requests.
Implementing and testing solutions in coordination with clinical, technical, and business teams.
Willingness to be on-call
Corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties.
