The Senior Composite Designer will be responsible for the design, development, and drafting of composite parts and assemblies, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, methods, and quality teams. This role involves performing 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation for composite parts, components, and assemblies, and developing design solutions while considering manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, and aerospace certification requirements. The designer will also prepare definition drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing data required for production, and contribute to the definition of laminates, thicknesses, ply orientations, inserts, reinforcements, and assembly interfaces in collaboration with composite engineers. They will implement required design changes following analyses, testing, non-conformities, or production feedback, and ensure that design solutions comply with applicable aerospace industry standards, specifications, and requirements. The position requires close collaboration with stress, materials/composites, methods, manufacturing, and quality teams, participation in design reviews, and investigation of production-related issues to recommend design improvements. The role also includes maintaining and updating technical data within configuration management systems and contributing to the continuous improvement of design standards and development processes.
